Pune Smart City Project

Transforming Traffic Management for a Smarter Pune

Summary

Our goal is to create an Adaptive Traffic Management System (ATMS) in Pune City, a project initiated by the Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited. ATMS is a smart solution that uses technology to improve traffic control, step in when needed, and share important information to make Pune’s roads safer and more orderly.

Key Components

1. Vehicle Detector Sensors:

These sensors plays vital role in gathering real-time data about vehicle movements, helping to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.

2. Traffic Signal Controller:

The heart of the system, this controller manages traffic signals, synchronizes timings, and ensures efficient signal changes to reduce wait times.

3. Communication Network:

A communication network connects the various components of the ATMS, facilitating seamless data exchange and system operation.

4. Traffic Control System:

The central control system oversees and manages the entire traffic network, orchestrating real-time responses and adjustments.

Project Phases:

The project happens in different steps, each making traffic in Pune better:
Phase-1: We finished 30 spots, and now they’re actively helping with traffic.
Phase-2: We’re about to start 49 more spots, expanding ATMS’s reach.
Phase-3: Right now, we’re working on 46 more spots to make the system even better.

Conclusion:

Our work on the Adaptive Traffic Management System in Pune shows our commitment to making the city better. By using smart technology and doing the project in stages, we’re making traffic smoother, safer, and more efficient. As we keep going through the phases, we’re excited to see how ATMS will keep Pune moving forward as a smart city.
